Uganda Telecom Becomes One
Uganda telecom and its mobile brand mango, merged to become Uganda telecom, Uganda telecom is the parent Company for mango and the assimilation is a projection to integrate the mobile to global infrastructure and streamline their services to make it easier for customers to mix and match different services giving customers more control, individuality and choice.
The Chief Executive of the Uganda telecom said the new brand will give customers a range of services on Uganda telecom adding that they have responded to evolving customer needs with compelling solutions to cater for customer needs. The combination brings access to more products and services for the market in terms of communication.
The merger will mean the two networks work as one to pool resources together. There are plans to test the market and see if SIMU 4 U can also be incorporated which is a brand of Uganda telecom.
Telecom offers mobile landline and data solutions. The new way of achieving the objective is by providing more Ugandans with affordable ICT.
Telecom, a pioneer company in Uganda provide innovative communication solutions like prepaid landline services called telesaverplus, broadband internet solutions, and business solutions like data back-up, and retrieval services, and management storage of disaster recovery.
Uganda currently has three mobile telecommunication Companies namely, mango (now Uganda telecom), celtel Uganda and MTN with a subscriber base of 1.5 million.
