Mission Launches Website

Uganda High Commission launched its Website on October 09,2002.

It will serve as a vital instrument for the Mission to effectively and efficiently fulfill its mandate of conducting Uganda 's bilateral relations and commercial diplomacy in order to promote a regional and international environment that supports Uganda 's economic growth, development and security needs.

The Website is aimed at providing information on investment, trade, tourism and education opportunities available in Uganda expeditiously. In addition, it will enable the Mission to better portray Uganda 's remarkable political and economic resurgence under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni's leadership.

Links to key Ministries and Institutions in Uganda are provided so that vital information can be accessed easily.

The Uganda High Commission Newsletter r is also now available online. In order to cater for the burgeoning interest and inquiries on education that the Mission receives from Kenyan parents and students, a directory on educational institutions in Uganda is
included.

Regarding provision of consular services, it is now possible to download visa application and other forms from the Web site.

This initiative will greatly enhance the Mission 's effectiveness and efficiency in provision of vital information to prospective investors, businesspeople, tourists, Ugandans resident in Kenya, students interested in pursuing education in Uganda, and researchers among others.

In this fast-paced and competitive global environment, we must take advantage of the invaluable opportunities offered by the rapid advancements in information technology.

The Web site Address is:

Mr. John L. Mugerwa, Second Secretary/Editor of the Newsletter

From Our Readers

Congratulations
It is a big step forward for you to have established a Website that will actually help us understand Uganda better.

This is great work done. Congratulations to all those who participated. I wish to suggest that you change your email address to ugahicom@ugandahighcommission.co.ke instead of the ones you now have.

Thank you.
