Vice President at NGO Conference

Vice President Prof. George Saitoti and Dr. Speciosa Kazibwe at an NGO Conference, April 16, 2002 - Nairobi

The Vice-President of Uganda, Dr. Speciosa W. Kazibwe attended an NGO Conference in Nairobi. It was opened by the Kenyan Vice President Prof. George Saitoti and focused on
strengthening NGO partnerships for Reproductive Health in Africa through Gov-ernance
and Leadership Development.

In her Keynote address, Dr. Kazibwe pointed out the importance of leadership involving all the stakeholders, NGOs, religious leaders, civil society and the media in partnership.

She thanked the outgoing United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) Director Ms. N.Sadiq for a job well done. She also wished her successor Dr. Thoraya Obaid a successful tenure of office.

The Conference was also addressed by the Nabagereka (Queen) of Buganda King-dom
Sylvia Nagginda who is UNFPA’sGoodwill Ambassador in Uganda.
