Ministry of Agriculture Invites Bids for Supply
of Breeding Bulls
The government of Uganda has pro-videdfunds towards the implementation
of the strategic interventions programme under the Ministry of Agriculture,
Animal Industry and Fisheries. Farmers are currently being supported
to access improved stocking material aimed at improving productivity.
To achieve this objective, government has decided to procure improved
tropicalised bulls. Part of the funds under the programme will be
applied to payments under the contract for the supply of 160 young
Boran bulls and
40 young Sahiwal bulls.
The Contracts Committee of Ministryof Agriculture, Animal Industry
and Fisheries invites sealed bids from farmers, ranchers, farmers
organisation or theirrepresentative to supply young Boran and Sahiwal
breeding bulls.
Breeding bulls supplied from outsideUganda shall be delivered
to Entebbe quarantine station at the Livestock Experimental Station,
next to Entebbe Airport. Breeding bulls supplied from within Uganda
shall be delivered to Nshaara Cross Breeding Ranch, Mbarara.
The minimum number that a bidder maysupply is 50 and 20 breeding
animals for Boran and Sahiwal breeding bulls respectively. l A complete
set of bidding documents may be obtained by interested bidders from
the addresses below upon payment of a non-refundable cash fee of
Ushs.100,000/- or its equivalent:

Bids must be delivered to the Secre-taryContracts Committee, Ministry
of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, P.O. Box 102, Entebbe
Uganda at or before 10.00 a.m., Tuesday July 23, 2002. All bids
must be accompanied by a bid security of 20% of the bid price.
Bids will be opened in the presence ofbidders or their authorized
representative who choose to attend soon after 10.00 a.m. the same
day at the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries.
